Thanks for reading/watching! This complex is on the south side of the Carlyle/Eisenhower area. With 495 right there, you would need to head north to get up to Jamieson / Duke Streets to get across from what I believe, unless you found a cut-through. I don’t know of one though.

Thanks for the interesting read. I’m wondering if Carlyle Mills apartments has easy access (walking, biking) to Old Town and whether or not it’s on the west side of this area (which you mention is the area closest to Old Town)?

Aah, GREAT question! The City portion of Alexandria used to be part of the original capital city as designated by George Washington. Georgetown and Alexandria (where Old Town is) both had dueling ports in a way. Alexandria retroceded out of the city in the mid 1800’s but still retained the designation as a city.

How did the two Alexandria’s emerge? (City & Fairfax Co.) Kind of like Falls Church & the city of Falls Church.

Thanks for the comment! I feel that Potomac Yard being east of Route 1 isolates it. It’s part of National Landing, but hard to miss that you have to cross many lanes of Route 1 which is basically a highway, to get to everything – aside from the park. Those buildings right now are also mostly offices and some condos/apts.

Safeway is basically the grocery store of my choice. I shop at all of others less frequently, however, Safeway is my go to grocer.

Because that is part of Alexandria in Fairfax County. Hence the reason why this video is for the “City” and there is another video for the Fairfax County portion. I explained this in other comments as well here.

Much more to the West End. Cameron Station is a great community comprised of condos, townhomes, and single family homes, with lots of amenities (pool, gym, indoor basketball court, coffee shop, daycare, metro shuttle, dog wash, restaurant, walking distance port city brewery, adjacent to 60 acre park, dog park, bike path).
