I knew Potomac BEFORE it became “the” place and when being from there meant you were a “hick”! We lived on 20 acres in a house built during the Civil War with a dirt “basement” and thick wooded trees. For the family of 8, it was the only place we could find to live near the DC job my dad had as a researcher at the National Bureau of Standards. A great place to grow up until the middle 60s when it became full of “Kennedy-snobs” as we called them…the people in government that didn’t live in DC. It’s an interesting history of growing up in the area so close to DC “workings” and those people. Very country, quiet, noneventful in those days…then the Kennedy’ group hit town! Never the same.

It has the tacky Safeway and the Walgreen drug store is a mess. This is an affluent area and village should reflect this .
