There was so much information to process as we tried to buy our first home. Fortunately, Melissa Terzis seemed like she was available 24 hours a day to guide us, and it was amazing to have a real estate expert totally invested in seeing things from our point of view—while providing critical advice about what we could get and where we could get it within our price range. Not only did she personally guide us all over the city and through a sometimes confusing DC real estate market, she answered our questions and worked on offers at all times of day and night. There are just so many buyers looking at every listing, and I don’t think we would have gotten our lovely new condo without Melissa’s attention to detail, work ethic, and just general sharpness. The level of personal attention we got as Melissa’s clients blew us away. I would recommend her enthusiastically to anyone looking for a realtor in DC.

On multiple occasions where she stood to gain much larger commissions from us, she actually talked us out of spending more money that we should! Melissa is not your typical realtor…she is extremely efficient, searched out properties that fit our parameters,her communication skills are second to none,but was not in the least pushy or aggressive with us during our property search,which we appreciated. However,she is extremely tenacious when going out to bat for her clients whether it be during the negotiations or in our case dealing with an inefficient mortgage company,that despite being an international bank did not understand the vagaries of the DC realty market. Ridiculously good. Before moving to the US, you hear so many terrible stories about agents being money hungry with as much interest in your satisfaction as I have in coming up with a smart analogy. We tried one agent who pushed us to purchase when we were clearly not ready so that put us off real estate companies, until my wife found Melissa online. Attentive, willing to go the extra mile, understanding and honest about what’s available for what budget. Melissa understood we wanted to wait a year before making a buy decision and helped us find a condo in less than a week. As a pretty naïve couple navigating DC real estate, Melissa was both professional and enjoyable on our many travels around town. She was straightforward with her thoughts on price vs. value, and quickly understood what we were looking for. Moreover, she made the whole process feel easy. She held our hands without making us feel stupid (which we were). After finding our house, she helped craft a winning strategy for not only getting the home – but working with our special budget situation. She walked us through the loan process, helping us ask the right questions to secure the best rates and made settlement a breeze. Finally, and maybe most notably, even after settlement, as we dealt with the standard new home issues, she stayed by our side to make sure we were comfortable. Melissa Terzis was recommended to us by friends that were buying in the DC/MD area. My husband and I were first time buyers, just starting to look at what the market had to offer. I have no idea where to begin. Melissa and Michael were the dream team that I needed to not only purchase a house but to find a place that I could call home.
